Welcome to Friends For Street Children Association

Friends For Street Children (FFSC) is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and operates through several centers located in different parts of the city.
It offers basic education to the children of migrants moving in from the countryside to the city to earn their living. Many of the children are not able to go to school because they do not have birth certificates to enroll or are too old for the classes for which they are academically qualified. Their families do not have residence permits or enough income to pay for the schooling of their children.
In the FFSC centers, the educational program goes hand-in-hand with recreational activities and basic health care. The centers also provide vocational traning courses, run activities involving the parents of the students and assist them in getting proper documentation. In 2007, more than a thousand children attend the FFSC programs.

Vision

FFSC envisions that children are human beings who should be valued and respected, that society should ensure children have the opportunities, resources and encouragement to develop into healthy, happy, active, productive people integrated in their family, community and society in accordance with the spirit of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and of the Law of Protection, Care, and Education of the Child issued by the Vietnamese Government.
